Class V Visits The National Science Centre
School organised an excursion for class V to the National Science Centre on Friday, 24th July 2015, in an attempt to arouse scientific interest and introduce the students to hands-on science models. The museum houses a unique collection of scientific models and galleries which creates curiosity among children to explore.
The children were excited to see the models based on diverse concepts of science. They visited the galleries, namely, Emerging Technologies, Water: The Elixir of life, Information Revolution, Digital Information, Fun Science, Heritage Gallery, Prehistoric life Gallery, the Human Biology Gallery and the Uniqueness of Human Life Gallery etc.

The students were particularly fascinated by the Fun Science Gallery as it was filled with hands'-on exhibits explaining the basic fundamentals of science. There were several models like the Equaliser, Xylophone, Electronic Organ, Organ Pipes etc. which involved games and psychomotor skills to enhance learning. Students were also made aware about the misuse of our water bodies by mankind and ways to save them. They absorbed the stories of the evolution of Communication Technology, the Digital Information Revolution in India and Indias contribution to Science and Mathematics, Nobel Prize winners and exponents of these fields.
The National Science Centre offers a gateway to scientific literacy and scientific awareness. It encourages enquiry and "Learning To Do". In fact "Learning in Fun" is its chosen mode of learning.
Nakul Chadda, of class V-D deserves special mention for gallantly taking the lead towards cleanliness by cleaning out the bus of all the waste upon return to School! We felt very proud!
