Class VIII visits the New Delhi World Book Fair 2024

On 9 August 2024, 48 students of class VIII  embarked on an inspiring visit to the New Delhi World Book Fair 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. This significant event marked the 28th edition of the Book Fair and the 24th of the Stationery Fair. The theme for this year, “Global Influence of Indian Books,” celebrate the profound cultural and literary contributions of Indian authors to the world.

The fair was a vibrant showcase of contemporary Indian literature, featuring an impressive collection that included short stories, biographies, comics, and works on yoga—all penned by Indian writers. The students, brimming with enthusiasm, explored a variety of stalls that offered everything from captivating novels and educational books to unique stationery and even tantalising food. The lively atmosphere of the fair was enriched by a diverse array of genres and interactive experiences, with many stalls dedicated to engaging competitions, insightful seminars, and hands-on workshops.

Among the notable participants were over 90 leading companies, including the Publication Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sahitya Akademi, Gorakhpur Gita Press, and Rupa Publications. These exhibitors provided a comprehensive platform for educational enrichment, offering a wealth of resources aimed at enhancing both student learning and teaching practices. Teachers too, found valuable material that would support their professional growth, allowing them to bring fresh ideas and resources into the classroom.

The students returned from the New Delhi Book Fair 2024 with their hands full of books and stationery, and their minds alight with newfound passion and enthusiasm. This enriching experience not only broadened their literary horizons but also deepened their appreciation for the global influence and enduring legacy of Indian literature.
