Classes 4 and 5 see ' PADDINGTON'
On Thursday 5 February 2015, students of classes IV and V were up for a short, sweet and fun-filled trip down to 3Cs movie theatre to watch Paddington, an animated tale of an adorable stuffed bear.
Ten buses deployed to carry 278 students with 10 teachers, commenced their short journey from School at 8:30 am. The movie began at 9 am after the group was nicely settled. The excitement was palpable amongst the children as the movie progressed and they clapped and laughed. After about 45 minutes into the movie, a packet of popcorn and a cold drink arrived for each of us and 2 boxes of chocolates followed as a special treat!
The movie lasted 95 minutes and we returned to School by 11 am. With delight writ large on every face, an animated discussion about the movie was very much on the cards. Memorable acts of Paddington" ( the Bear) were recalled in great animation by one and all, each from a distinct and equally endearing perspective! Several students also wrote down what they felt about the movie and why.
The movie effectively delivered a favourite childrens character into the present, even whilst retaining his old charm in friendly family adventure. As the story went, a deadly earthquake destroys a little town in the Peruvian rainforest and a young bear, Ben Whishaw makes his way to England in search of a new home. The bear affectionately called Paddington after the London tube station, finds shelter with the family of Henry and Mary Brown. Although Paddingtons amazement at urban living soon endears him to the Browns, someone else has an eye on him..
