Code Warriors, the computer club of Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj hosted Code Wars 2013- The Fifteenth Annual Inter- School Technology Symposium, on 24 and 25 October, 2013. This club is entirely an initiative of the students themselves. The Symposium consisted of several events including Programming, Quizzing, Crossword, n-Crypton, Group Discussion, Web Designing and a Surprise Event.
We reached the host School at 8.30 am and then proceeded to the mini-auditorium to join the other competing schools. As many as 320 students from 32 schools across Delhi participated in the event.
We participated in the following different categories:
Crossword: Shlok Tyagi (X) , Alisamar (IX) A written preliminary round , followed by an on-stage final for six teams.
Programming : Manik Narula (XII), Rohan Bhatia (XII)- Using Turbo C++, teams were to design programs on a given problem.
Group Discussion: Siddhanto Sen (XII)- This category required an in- depth understanding of technology as well as excellent oratory skills. There was a preliminary round followed by a final round.
n-Crypton: Vikramaditya (XI) , Pavas Nawani (XI)- A wide variety of puzzle-based questions on technology were posed to the teams.
Gaming : Sahil Sarna (XII)- This was a multi-platform and multi-stage event to spot the best gamer among the participants.
Surprise Event : Siddhant Arora (XI), Harshul Chugh (XI)- Students were asked to prepared an animated clip, using the software and the still pictures provided by the school to the teams.
Junior Quiz : Pulkit (IX), Prakhar (IX)- Event consisted of a written preliminary, followed by an on-stage final for six deserving finalists.
The participants were judged, both on the basis of their preparation, as well as their creativity and innovation. After qualifying in the prelim round of Gaming, Sahil Sarna came Third in the final.
