Colours of Chemistry, Special Assembly by class 11.
Chemistry is a part of our day to day life. It is all around us, but the point is how far do we realize it's contribution and involvement in
our everyday lives? It is actually wonderful to find out what it does!
On 16 July13, Luvditya Khurana and Pritha Ray of class 11 (chemistry dept.) made an effort to throw light on the topic- Colours of Chemistry at a Special Assembly.
The assembly was conducted by the students as a power point presentation explaining the various aspects of our day to day lives involving the colourful world of chemistry. Every colour has a mystery behind it and while making this presentation, we came across such important facets of life which have interesting bonding with chemistry, infact the magic inherent in it, asvisible to us in colours, said the students.
The presentation revolved around a discussion on the colours of flowers, fruits and vegetables, dyes and pigments, food colours and also precious stones we likeusing as fashion accessories! The students also spent time explaining their interesting chemical compositions.
The presentation was followed by an inter- house quiz for the students of classes 9 and 10.
All the participants were well- prepared and answered in great enthusiasm and with full confidence. Infact it was a tough contest!
An informative experience for the students, audience and teachers, the exercise was yet another example of 'edu-tainment'!
