Commemorating National Education Day

11th November is observed as National Education Day every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of eminent educationist Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. As we know Maulana Azad is remembered for his valuable contribution to the cause of education in India.

A plethora of activities were conducted at School as a fitting remembrance. Essay Writing was conducted in classes VIII, IX, X and XI. The topics given were directly relevant to todays times. Students expressed their views on The importance of education for the well- being of society, Todays browsing generation has forgotten to read, How is the internet helpful in education, and The changing face of education.

A seminar was conducted for classes VI, VII and VIII in the A.V.Room, as a part of the days celebrations. The seminar highlighted the work of the Maulana. A presentation was shown, which spoke of his efforts in the establishment of various educational institutions across India that matched international standards. His early life, career and political ideology were also discussed with the students. The session was an interactive one with students raising questions in the great leaders life and works.

The day was indeed a time to sit back and reflect upon the legacy of education left by the great visionary, for us to nurture and pass on to future generations.
