On 7 July 2017, Aman Pathania 12-C (Captain), Chirag Narang 12-B, Dhairya Sachdeva 10- D, Rishit 9-C, Saksham Majumdar 10-D, Mayank Khatri 12- B , Shivam Wadhwa 11-C, Karan Sidhu 12-C, Adi Bhattacharya 11-C and Yash Raj Kumar 12-C, under the guidance of coach Imran Ahmed Khan, represented The Indian School at the Delhi State Futsal Championship 2017 held at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College in Yamuna Vihar. 38 teams participated in this grand event.
Our first match was against Rosary Public School. Aman Pathania and Rishit scored a goal each which was enough for a 2-0 win for The Indian School. Rishit won the Man of the Match Trophy for his excellent performance!
Our second match was against Evergreen School. Aman scored a goal in the first half to give the team a lead by 1-0. Shivam scored another goal in the second half and the final score was 2-0.
[gallery link="file"]With 2 victories, our School topped the group and entered the quarter finals.
On 8 July,2017 our team played a quarter final against the Chatakbaaz Futsal Club, but lost the match by 1-0.
Though our students didnt win the trophy but the participation itself was a wonderful learning in itself.
The students carried a positive outlook for their game and renewed their commitment to enhance their skills to bring laurels for their School the next time.
