DK QUIZ 2017

On 25th July 2017, the 4th edition of the DK Quiz was held in our School auditorium. Although this was their fourth edition, our School was conducting it for the second time. DK or Dorling Kindsley is a publishing house specialised in publishing childrens books, covering diverse subjects like space, dinosaurs, animals, craft activities, cookery, history etc., the list is endless.

The first round was held in the Library where the participants were asked to answer a worksheet which had 15 questions. The shortlisted ones then got to appear in the quiz on 25th July. On the day of the quiz, the auditorium was all wired up with excitement and zeal! At 8:45 am, students started assembling in the auditorium . 59 teams were present, altogether. Each team had two members and each member was given a badge with his/ her name and the team number.

The first round began with 20 sets of questions which were common for all teams. The quiz was conducted by popular quizmaster, Aditya Nath . While the checking of the answer sheets was underway, the publishers people showed us a presentation named Birds of Delhi. The presentation had questions for the audience too and the best answers were awarded books and notepads as prizes.

Later 6 teams were selected for the final round which also happened to be a stage round. The names of the teams were: A: Samaara Ravish and Avani Mathur B: Vidhi Wadhwa and Debarpan C: Pranav and Aryan Malhotra D: Aadrita and Meenakshi Manoj E: Vatsal and Srinjoy F: Siddhant Gautam and Damak

Samaara Ravish and Avani Mathur were declared runners up and Vidhi Wadhwa and Debarpan were named the winners of the DK Quiz. Now they will represent The Indian School at the grand Finale on 12th October.

Debarpan, class VIII B confessed he could scarcely believe that the quizmaster was announcing his team as the winner! Both the participants were delighted!

We expect a good score in the grand finale now. Infact students are already visiting the library in the zero period for preparation, which reflects their determination to win. I am amazed to see their energy levels and wish them success for their finals.

The quiz was well managed by the committee headed by Sarim Husain. His team members were Sahil Chugh , Avantika Chodha, Reva Kalra and Khyati of class XI and Gauri Awasthi of class X.
