Dr. Amidas Goradia Debate in Hindi- 2016 for classes 4 and 5.

The 12th Dr. Amidas Goradia Inter-School Debate in Hindi was held at our School on 1st September 2016. The event attracted the overwhelming participation of 21 prominent schools from across the city. The purpose of the debate is the promotion of Hindi as a national language (alongside English), among primary school children in Delhi.

The chief guest on the occasion was Padam Shri, Mr. Ashok Chakradhar, a renowned Hindi poet, writer and media personality. He is a celebrated poet known for his unique style of poetry. The debate was adjudged by four judges, Mr. Rahul Dev, well-known Hindi journalist, formerly editor of the Jansatta and associated with Aaj Tak, Doordarshan, Zee News and Janmatn. The second judge was Mr. Bharat Tiwari, Founder Editor of the E-magazine, Shabdankan. Ms. Shahnaz Khan is a freelance journalist and a fashion blogger while Ms. Vandana Raag, a writer and journalist

After lighting the ceremonial lamp, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering. He also recited a few poems to the great delight of all the children. Mr. Bharat Tiwari and Ms. Vandana Raag also shared valuable tips with the students on how to make their language skills more effective.

Shruti Singh of R.S. Junior Modern School was adjudged Best Speaker while the second and third best speaker awards were taken by Sharanya Jain of Air Force Bal Bharti School and Shaurya Datta of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The Rolling Trophy was awarded to D.P.S., East of Kailash and the second runner up trophy went to R.S. Junior Modern School.

The topics of the debate were, Main apne maa-pita ke hathon ki kathputli hoon , Facebook Twitter ka hai saath phir bhi kisi se hai milne ki aas , Bachpan ki lata lahrane do, swarth ke bashindo na ise murjhane do , Ye khelne ke din hai chaar pratiyogita main kyon karen bekaar.

The judges were impressed by the level of articulation exhibited by the children and the fluency with which they spoke. The judges said that for them, all the participants were winners.
