Educational ( summer) excursion to France.

On 16 June, 2013, a group of 13 students from classes VIII to XII with their teacher, Ms. Mithu Ghosh, left for France on an educational trip. They landed in Zurich and took a connecting flight to Paris.

After a day long siteseeing tour of Paris, they reached Rouen by evening, which is approximately 135 kms from Paris. They were picked up by their host families with whom they were to stay for the next six days. What a wonderful way to get a firsthand feel of the French way of life! By becoming a member of a French family and it's home for a week.

In Rouen the children attended a week of French classes at the Alliance Francaise in the mornings. In the afternoons w were taken on excursions. Honfleur, a fishing village, Giverny, the abode of painter Claude Monet, a rock concert, swimming, a light and sound show at the local cathedral, dinner at a restaurant etc were some of the lovely outings.

On our last day in Rouen, the students took a written test and were awarded marks and certificates. We had tea with the staff members of the institute and our students took the opportunity to offer Indian snacks at the occasion! Ojasvi Jain and Sanchari Banerjee sang a few Indian folk songs and Meghlayana Banerjee danced to the famous track, Jai Ho by A.R. Rahman.

We spent the last 3 nights of the trip in Paris where we visited the Louvre, Champ Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre, Eiffel Tower, Concorde, Notre Dame and Bateaux Mouches on the river Seine.

We returned after a most memorable and enriching trip on the night of 25 June via Vienna.
