Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel on 31 October, 2020 named Ekta Diwas, the honourable Prime Minister launched the programme Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) to start a coordinated engagement process between the states, union territories, and the central ministries. The engagement is envisaged to be achieved through linguistic, literary, cultural, sports, tourism and other forms of people-to-people exchanges.

In November, 2019, the students of The Indian School participated in activities to be conducted under the programme. Around 1700 students took a pledge on Swachhta and promised to keep the environment safe and clean.

In December, to celebrate Unity in Diversity, a quiz was conducted at all age levels between Delhi and Sikkim. The quiz aimed to maintain and strengthen the fabric of emotional bonds between peoples of our country.

The quiz was followed by a power point presentation showcasing the rich heritage and culture, customs and traditions of both Sikkim and Delhi for people in both places to know and appreciate. It created an environment of learning between the peoples of two states by sharing best practices and experiences.

The activities not only lead to enrichment of knowledge but also built bonding between the students of both places. Such activities go a long way in grooming our students as responsible citizens with a deep belief in the unity in diversity of the nation.
