Essay writing competition on Nation Building by the Tata Group

The Tata Building India School Essay Competition is a key initiative undertaken by the Tata group of companies to motivate the youth of India towards thinking about nation building. In this context an online essay writing competition was organised for students of 6-8 on 11 November 2021. The elimination round was held at the school level.

A total of 534 students participated in this online event. The essay competition provided a unique platform to encourage young leaders of tomorrow to showcase their abilities of articulation in writing.

Since the middle school started its offline classes from 9 November, it was really heart-warming to see the enthusiasm and fervour of students who were physically present at School after a hiatus of almost 2 years, while the rest wrote online.

Each year, students are presented with the opportunity to compete and win by writing an essay on a specific theme, relating to nation building. This years theme was Online Education.

This year children from more than 200 cities participated in the event. The event started at 8:40 am with officials from TCS exposing the students to inspirational Tata-linked films to stimulate the young minds. Following this, the participants swere asked to write an essay on the topic, Give 5 suggestions to make online classes more interesting and available to all children across the country. They were given an hours time to write the essays and submit the same to their teachers by mail.

The children participated whole heartedly and flooded the mailboxes of their class teachers with their essays. The winner is promised the precious chance of meeting the President of India himself and this was a great motivation in itself!

The best 3 entries will represent our School at the national level of the competition. Although a tough job to select a mere 3 essays, it is now a test for the teachers to do justice to every entry and select the ones that are extraordinary.
