The morning air of 14th July ( Monday) was filled with a lot of excitement and anticipation. Ashmeet Singh, Yash Sharma and Ayush Wadhwa with the guidance of their teachers competently co-ordinated and conduct an alumni versus seniors' football match! The Seniors were very happy to see their role models take to the School field again.
The match was played in abundant enthusiasm and even the rain and the wet ground could not dampen the spirits. Akhilesh Mukerjee captained the Ex 12th squad and Yash Sharma, the present senior squad. It was a fun filled occasion. The alumni squad comprised Sahil Sarna, Akhilesh Mukerjee, Ansh Kumar, Daksh Narang, Siddhanto Sen and Utkarsh Grover, all of last year's class 12. The senior squad comprised Yash Sharma, Ashmeet Singh, Raunaq Bhalla, Tushar Gupta, Akshat Sachdeva, Nikhil Vinayak, Rishab Kharyal, Varun Talwar, Kartik Kambiri and Ayush Wadhwa.
The Ex- 12th got to the net first, scoring a goal in the first half, credit to Daksh Narang. They were then awarded a penalty but Sahil Sarna who took it didn't cause any damage to the opponents as his shot was widely off the target.
The Seniors were awarded a free kick, which was the privilege of Yash Sharma, combined with the efforts of Raunaq Bhalla ( Vice Sports Captain). Raunaq Bhalla did a dummy run over the ball and Yash Sharma took an amazing shot over the wall of the opposition. Alas he was denied a goal because of a magnificent save by the Ex-12th keeper, Vidhu Gaba!
The Seniors then came back strongly, with a great dribble and shot from Ashmeet Singh ( Sports Captain). Ashmeet, then again, found the net after an amazing ball from left-winger, Varun Talwar which hurled the seniors ahead at 2-1.
A final whistle brought the curtains down on a great match.
