Excursion to Purana Quila, class 7.
Outdoor learning is a fun way of learning is what the students of class 7 exclaimed when they went for a class excursion to Purana Quila on 23 February, 2015.
The mounted Quila looked formidable. As we entered its huge wooden gates, we felt an instant connect with a rich past and another time. We walked around and stepped into the archaeological museum on the premise that houses sculptures, manuscripts, artefacts, pottery and terracotta toys from different varied periods of history all of which were found during the excavation at the fort. We specially marvelled at the intricate stonework panels we saw.

We then headed to view the edifices and halls within the vast expanse of the fort. It was indeed an amazement that they had survived centuries and were witness to so much of our rich history and heritage.
We ended up in a grassy expanse where we settled down for our picnic. We played games, not in groups of 4 or 5, but as a whole class, as if setting an example of unity even outside School! We hungrily dug into our snack boxes, we sang, we ran and we played. What fun we had!
It was soon time to call it a day and we reluctantly climbed back into our buses.
The excursion indeed freshened up our minds before our final exam!
