Excursion to the School eco park for class 5

An exuberant group of 40 students of class V visited the School Eco Park on Friday, 25 January, 2019. They were accompanied by three teachers of the sports, dance and science departments. The entire bus journey was astir with their lively and zestful chatter. On arrival at the park, the students were divided into two groups. Ms. Parvinder Kaur escorted the first group to the science section of the park. The basic principles of Physics were brought alive through the life-sized models on display. The excited party rolled the Double Ended Cone and listened to the musical tubes as they made their way from one innovative model to the next. The distorted images in the Reflecting Mirrors caused much mirth and merriment to the young explorers. Their inquisitive eyes noted the DNA model and the Third Order Lever.

Meanwhile, the second group was further sub-divided into two teams. Ms. Seema Kaul engaged her flock in a feisty game of throw ball, even as Mr. Madhav practised jazz and funk steps with his set of children! The groups interchanged positions after some time in order to accord each child a chance to experience all three activities. Indeed, it was Play and Learn all day long. Next, the little scholars turned little farmers as they experienced the joy that comes from picking vegetables fresh off the fields! They enjoyed harvesting cauliflowers, majestic aubergines and crisp spinach leaves. They watched with keen interest as the farm helpers demonstrated how to pick the succulent produce. It was a day well-spent at the eco park. The group returned to School laden with bags full of hand-picked produce of their choice, fresh farm air and lasting memories!
