Exhibition on the NEP

Students and teachers of The Indian School were invited to an annual exhibition held vy Red Roses Public School, Saket, on 5 November 2022. Ms Shikha Sharma, Ms Sandhya Batheja, Akshay Bhave (8 A) and Dhairya Singh Bisht (9D) marked their presence at the event, aptly named Navchetna, which emphasised the future readiness of the host school for the adoption of the NEP (National Education Policy).

The host school Principal, Dr Anuradha Mehta, duly honoured the Chief Guest, Sh. Animesh Kumar (Honble Judge/Secretary, DLSA), Guest of Honour, Ms Jyoti Arora, Governing Body Member, CBSE, and Mr Virender Sharma, G.M. North India PVR Cinemas.

The special assembly celebrated the spirit of Incredible India through a cultural extravaganza of dance and music performances from the different states and union territories of our country.

The exhibits focussed on the theme Navchetna and highlighted key features of the NEP from the foundational stage to the secondary stage. The exhibits were labelled after the main goals of the NEP and covered early childhood care and education, happiness curriculum, experiential learning, and sustainable development goals, to name a few.

In addition, there were exhibits on professional and skill development,AI in the Atal Tinkering Lab, school safety measures, zero hunger and sustainable communities, eco healing, multi-linguism, herbal corner, inclusive and equitable education, art integration- Lok Kala

Hamara Gaurav, Fit India, Hit India, etc. The exhibition showcased handcrafted artefacts and projects that were both innovative and informative.

Providing ample experiential learning opportunities, appeared to be the focus of most of the exhibits. In the safety measures' enclosure, the students had prepared a beautiful model of their school and the safety equipment, fire fighting and CCTV camera management systems. The sports department actively promoted a fitness regimen that includes simple yoga exercises and conducted tests to check the fitness levels of the visitors!

In the AI in ATL workspace, models based on ARDINO programming and sensor technology provided solutions to water and power crisis situations keeping in mind the SDGs suggested in the NEP.

As is well known, to create a more inclusive, cohesive and productive nation, the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) has come as a ground breaking reform. The policy intends to create a future where the child is at the heart of research-based, individualised learning. The exhibitors successfully captured the essence of the NEP in their informative and innovative displays.

The Indian School visitors at the event returned with new perspectives, original thoughts and inspirational ideas.
