Gandhi Jayanti in Pre primary

Every home is a university, and the parents are the teachers. Mahatma Gandhi

The Pre-primary level of The Indian School observed Gandhi Jayanti on 1 October amidst much fanfare. The year 2021 marks the 152nd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation-Mahatma Gandhi.

The virtual commemoration commenced with a welcome by Masaaya Madan of PP Leo. Paying a rich tribute to the Mahatma, Shivansh of PP Vega, Shine of PP Orion and Alayna of PP Gemini shared some of his core beliefs and values.

Praneet of PP Merak dressed as Gandhiji and spoke a few lines to inspire the gathering. His rendition of Gandhijis favourite bhajan, Raghu Pati Raghav Raja Ram, mesmerised both the children and their parents.

Yatharth of PP Gemini danced to the unforgettable song Bande Mein Tha Dum. A few others essayed the role of the great freedom fighters like Janya of PP Gemini as Rani Laxmi Bai, Samarth of PP Leo as Subhash Chandra Bose, Vivaan of PP Orion as Bhagat Singh and Hasrat of PP Vega as Sarojini Naidu. The young actors enunciated the roles that these greats played in attaining freedom for their motherland. Tyasha Kaur of PP Leo confidently recited the rhyme 'Gandhiji ke Bandar Teen'.

The assembly concluded with Ananaya of PP Gemini, Mishka of PP Leo, Anika of PP Vega, Anika Kaushal of PP Orion and Jinisha of PP Merak holding placards of Gandhijis teachings and requesting their friends to pledge to follow his beliefs.

Subsequently, children did craftwork inspired by Gandhijis three monkeys, which signify- see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.

In the end, the teacher narrated an inspirational story to reiterate Bapu's universal teachings to the children.
