Gloria Humanitas, an annual Social Science extravaganza, 20 July, 2013.

Medieval society was plagued by religious intolerance, but in the eighth and ninth centuries, came a group of religious-minded people called the Sufis who preached that love towards oneself and others. The word sufi means 'one who is purified from all worldly evils'.

Sufism and it's principles was the topic of this year's Gloria Humanitas and our students participated in the same in vigour. Garvit Kala and Luvditya khurana (XI -A) made clay model of the Whirling Dervishes; Shiranshu Kumar(XI-A) illustrated a piece of sufi poetry while Mahima Bhatheja (XI -A) reproduced a couplet in calligraphy.

Niket and Anshaj (VIII-C) floored the audience by relating the timeless tale of Ali Baba aur chalis chor in Dastangoi, an Iranian style of story- telling. Ishan Mahendru (XII-C ) and Vikramaditya Bhatnagar (XI-C ) participated in the quiz. They alone knew that FM is the short form of Frequency Moderator!

18 Schools across the city participated in this gamut of events. Eminent educationist Ms. Vatsala Zulfi and Ms.Ritu Kamath, a versatile painter and sculptor were special guests.
