Graduation and Blessing Ceremony, class 12 batch of 2012-13.

"Graduation is only a concept. In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you'll make a difference." - Arie Pencovici

Graduation day is a great time to celebrate, to relieve oneself from a marathon of studies, to be content with what one has achieved and to look towards the future to be a better person in life and contribute towards your family and the society with all the skills you have learned and acquired over the years.

On 24 January, 2013, we teachers, parents and students of class 12, batch of 2012-13 assembled to celebrate an occasion of an end and of a beginning, the end of a safely supervised school life and a beginning of a life in the real world. Each of us felt equally enriched and advantaged by the remarkable journey that had been.

Principal ma'am began the proceedings of the morning by leading the train of teachers and students to light the farewell lamps. She blessed the childrens' new journeys offering each a diya to carry away and keep. It would mark the carrying away of the light of knowledge they had assembled at School. To illuminate the worlds that they will touch. The school choir soulfully scaffolded the sentiment.

Mr. Raisinghani, Director wished the students luck in life and urged them to try and wisely handle the freedom that awaits them. Ms. Madhavi Divan, governing body member, implored them to strike a balance between the social obligations they are bestowed with, alongside following their hearts. She also carried the blessings of Mr. Prafull Goradia, Chairman and Dr. Nayana Goradia, Vice Chairperson.

Unforgettable memories of joys and anxieties, of sharing and of pride were shared by the parents. Parents who spoke on the occasion were Ms. Usha Kataria, mother of Ira Kataria; Ms. Shalini Gupta, mother of Prachi Gupta and Mr. Shailesh Tewary, father of Aishwarya Tewary. Students who spoke on behalf of the graduating sections were Anmol Arora, Sonali Sharma and Amrita Dutta ( speeches are appended herewith).

The computer department presented a slideshow of a medley of magical memories that marked the 14 years from nursery until now giving the students and their teachers a fascinating flashback of their journey. Loud cheers mixed with glassy eyes assimilated the odyssey. Teachers gathered to sing an inspirational number to seal the send-off.

Finally a burly bunch of colourful balloons was released as a symbol of the clipping of the umbilical cord, as it were. Bravely we teachers set asail the ocean liners that we had built, of the sailboats that came in our care..
