Graduation Day 2024 (Class 12 Batch of 2023-24)

Graduation Day for XII Commerce and Humanities' students at The Indian School on 25 January 2024, was a momentous occasion filled with blessings, accolades, and heartfelt farewells.

The event was graced by esteemed chairperson Mr Prafull Goradia, Dr Mrs Nayana Goradia and Ms Brinda Shroff.

The solemnity of the occasion was marked by the traditional academic procession led by Principal Ms Tania Joshi, with all the teachers of the School carrying a lighted diya symbolising the guiding light of knowledge. The ceremony commenced with the melodious strains of the Ganesh Vandana by the School choir, followed by a captivating Kathak performance that set the tone for the evening.

Principal Ms Joshi addressed the gathering of parents, bestowing her blessings upon the graduating students and emphasising the importance of their achievements. Each student was honoured with a school folder, a personalised citation, and a directory of the batch 2023-24, commemorating their journey through The Indian School.

The highlight of the evening was the conferral of the Prafull Foundation Awards for excellence. The Foundation is instituted by our chairman Mr Prafull Goradia for children who are found to pursue excellence and are an embodiment of the School vision, ' Building ocean liners with Indian anchors and ethical rudders'.

Manan Kakkar, Head Boy was named 'Student of the Year' Manan Kakkar, Head Boy, in recognition of his exemplary achievements and contributions to the school community. Manan's dedication and leadership earned him not only the esteemed title but also a cash award of Rupees one lac.

Additionally, Chinmay Mishra and Ekveer Sahoo were recognised with the 'Special Mention' award, each receiving Rupees 25,000 in recognition of their notable accomplishments and contributions.

The ceremony continued with a delightful presentation of old photographs, capturing cherished memories of the graduating students' school life, evoking nostalgia among all present. As each student lit a personal brass from the diyas held out by  of their teachers, as symbolic of the carrying away of the light of knowledge into the world outside. 

Finally the students assembled to sing the School song together for the one last time. The hall was filled with a mix of emotions—pride, joy, and sadness—as the children bid farewell to their beloved alma mater.

Graduation Day at The Indian School was a memorable event, celebrating the achievements and contributions of the graduating students and wishing the best for their journeys ahead. It was a testament to the transformative power of education and the enduring bonds forged at School community, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended.
