GRID 2013, an inter- school computer event
We attended an IT festival THE GRID 2013, hosted by the computer club at Birla Vidya Niketan School on 23 October, 2013. The club is interestingly named ' Endofline'.
The event comprised various segments designed to draw out the talent of every computer geek in Delhi schools!
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Col. Ramesh Wahi, eminent expert in field management with over 40 years of IT and Telecom experience. He is President of CIOKlub Association of India, Delhi Chapter.
12 schools from across Delhi participated in the event; namely, Modern School Barakhamba, Delhi Public School R.K. Puram, New Era Public School, Rukmini Devi School, Gyan Bharati School, Apeejay School Sheikh Sarai, Amity International School Saket, Amity International School Pushp Vihar, The Navy Children School, Mother's International School, Ramjas School, Cambridge School Srinivaspuri, besides the hosts andus.
The event was totally organized and handled by students at the host school and comprised the following.
Quiz - Questions were based on the history of computers and current affairs. Participants:- Alisamar Hussain (X), Mohit Singhal (X).
Crossword based on General awareness, News, Programming Languages, Internet. Participants:- Paras Navani (XII), Nakul Chodha (XII).
Programming Programs were handed out to find the LCM and GCD of some numbers in C++. Participants:- Manik Narula (XII), Rohan Bhatia (XII);
Digital Imaging - Teams were provided with different images of the movie. They had to choose some images and form a poster with their own title. The software provided was Photoshop. Participants:- Piyush Nanwani (X), Raghav (X);.
Decrypton Teams were given with some numbers, alphabets and images. They had to solve and decrypt the answer. Participants:- Vikramaditya Bhatnagar (XI), Siddhant Arora (XI);
Gaming - There were 4 rounds, namely, Call of Duty: Black OPS2, Motor storm, FIFA 14, Grand Tinsmo 5. Participant:- Sahil Sarna (XII).
Surprise Event Teams were given a game based on the movie Tron Legacy. Participants:- Adil Khan (XI), Shrey Girotra (XII).
All participants were awarded certificates of participation.
