Hepatitis Day with Poster Making and Poetry Writing at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences

An inter-school poster-making and poetry competition, Know Hepatitis to No Hepatitis was held at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Vasant Kunj on 4th December 2015. The competition was organised by the Institute with the Government of NCT on the occasion of Hepatitis Day. It aimed at increasing awareness about liver disease among citizens of tomorrow. The event saw the participation of several schools of the NCR like DPS RK Puram, Amity International, Tagore International and Blue Bells. The event started with an inauguration ceremony presided over by Dr. S.K. Sarin. Founder Director of the Institute. Both a gastroenterologist and a hepatologist, Dr. Sarin's contribution to reforms in medical education and health sciences is noteworthy. He spoke on the disease, its causes, symptoms and precautions. The chief guests on the occasion were Satyendra Kumar Jain, minister, Government of Delhi and Naresh Verma, MLA, Mehrauli, who addressed the gathering. Our School participated actively in the competition where the topic for poetry recitation was . Organ Donation and that for poster making was Know Hepatitis to No Hepatitis. Divija Puri of class VII and Janis Oberoi of class IX took part in the poetry recitation whilst Lakshay, Anchal, Anika and Rishika of class VII, Mehul Tendon and Sravana Pal of class VIII and Anushka of class IX participated in the poster-making.
