Honour at District Level Qawwali competition
The Indian School participated in the District Level Indian Sufi Qawwali Music Competition on 18 October 2023, held at SKV, Mandi Village. The contest offered the 3 finalist teams, each from the north and south zone CBSE schools, to display their abilities in a stiff competition, judged by a panel of music teachers from Delhi government schools.
The Indian School qawwali group rendered a scintillating performance of an original composition, “Main toh rang gayi Maula ke rang mein”, by Mr Sanjeev Choudhary, music teacher at our School. Their rendition earned them the Second Position in this highly talented congregation of budding artists.
The participants were assessed based on their musical proficiency, creativity, stage presence, and overall impact on the audience. This achievement reflects the Qawwali group’s dedication and hard work in perfecting its performance.
The 19-member winning team included the following students: Hemang Gupta XII-D, Akshat Aggarwal X-B, Anshuman Kashyap XI-A, Anush Malik XI-A, Aarohan Chakrawarti IX-C, Unnabh Das Mahapatra IX-C, Rishit Pillai X-C, Daksh Mohan X-C, Abhineet Singh X-D (for tabla), Ansh singh IX-C ( for dholak), Shourya Gupta VI-C, Rishik Shrivastava VII-E, Aarnav Singh VIII-B, Gourav Jyoti Bara VIII-B, Vaibhav Bayla VIII-D, Swaransh Choudhary VII-D, Aditya Pathak VII-D, Priyanshu Modak VII-D and Anugrah Massey VIII-A .
The competition was a resounding success, bringing together students of various levels. It allowed aspiring students to shine and receive well-deserved recognition for their musical endeavours. The group looks forward to participating in such competitions to continue nurturing the musical talents within our School community.
