Honour at inter school commerce fest-COMMUNIQUE 2020

Strawberry Fields High School, Chandigarh conducted the first edition of its Annual Inter-School Commerce Fest Communiqu on 21-22 November 2020. The competition was open to students of classes XI and XII. The event was conducted online on Zoom and Discord. The event witnessed participation from different schools throughout the country.

The fest featured five activities that focused on critical and idea-based thinking. The activities were:

1. Mock Stock A team of three students was allowed in the event. The brief was to analyse the press releases provided to them and invest their money as best as possible in the stocks offered to them. The winning team would be the one having the highest portfolio value. Our team comprising Nishit Sharma of XII-C, Madhav Bhalla and Akshay Mehta of XI-C secured the Third Position in the event.

2. Crisis Averted A team of two or three participants was allowed to participate in the event. The teams were given different crisis situations, based on the industries allotted to them, by a draw of lots. Punya Chawla, Surveen Kaur of class XI and Dhruv Kambiri of class XII participated in the event.

3. Pitch Force A team of two students participated in the event. The participants were expected to pitch their ideas, based upon the theme given to them a week in advance. Shreya Pandey of XI-C and Aarushi Anand of XII-C participated in the event.

4. Trial By Trivia One participant from each school took part in the event. The business themed quiz tested the knowledge of the participants. The event consisted of seven rounds, after a preliminary round. Kirti Kaur of XII-C represented our School at the event.

5. Ad-Wars One participant from each school was allowed to participate here. The participants needed to create an advertisement for a company. The advertisement had to include a logo, tagline and other features. Mansimar Kaur Wadhera of XII-C participated in the event.

The students got opportunities to collaborate and express themselves on the digital platform, while learning many new things and gaining new experiences which will benefit them in the future. It was a gratifying experience for the students.
