Honour at Melange- an inter school Languages Competition
The Indian School participated in Melange, an inter school languages competition, hosted by Birla Vidya Niketan School on 22 January, 2021. Our students participated in the Hindi and Sanskrit events.
The competition in Hindi, Hasya Kavita Vachan, was divided into two rounds. In the first round, participants had to record a video entry and entries were shortlisted for the final event on 29 January, 2021. Apart from our entry there were 4 other schools which were shortlisted for the final round, including Lotus Valley International School (NOIDA), Bal Bharti Public School, Birla Vidya Niketan (Nainital) and Birla Vidya Niketan (Pushp Vihar).
Pritisha Mohapatra of class VII-C represented our School in the event and secured the Third Position.
Mahir Handa of class IX participated 'Afsana' where participants were required to record videos, narrating a self-composed story. Mahir penned a story about a nawab of Lucknow and his life of royalty.
The competition in Sanskrit was also divided into two categories 'Geeta Shlok Gayan Competition' in which students were to sing five shlokas from the 12th chapter of the Bhagwad Geeta, accompanied by a translation in Hindi. The second event was the 'Sanskrit Sambhaashan Competition' where students had to speak a paragraph on one of the given topics where our Samagya Gauri of class X chose to speak on was - ' ' or One who saves trees is saved by trees.
The host school finalised five best performances and our entry was one amongst those selected. The other schools in the final round were- Bal Bharti Public School (Dwarka), Birla Vidya Niketan (Pushp Vihar), Alwar Public School (Alwar) and Delhi Public School (Indirapuram).
The students were happy to be a part of such an event. The social platform enriched their capability of being active and expressive.
