Honour at Zonal Level Folk Group Song Competition 2024-25

On 29 August 2024, the students of the junior and the senior choir of The Indian School participated in the Zonal Level Folk Group Song Competition and won the Second Position. The event took place at Sarvodaya Senior Secondary School, Safdarjung Enclave. They were accompanied by their teacher, Mr Sanjeev Choudhary.

A number of schools participated in the competition. Our choir sang a melodious rendition “Ramji se pooche Janakpur ke naari”.

The winning group comprised Rhythm (9 A), Anwesha Dutta (12 D), Navya Malhotra (11 D), Adrika Chowdhury (8 B), Hitvi chandel (8 B), Ananya Chakraborty (10 B), Anika Chawla (9 C), Gouri Saini(11 D), Hansika (9 C)  Meghna Sherawat (10 B), Nandini Saini (11 D), Snigdha Mishra (8 D), Snigdha Nag (9 C), Suhaani Duggal (8 E), Vrinda Vatsa (9 B) and Banni (9A). Kartvya Sharma (8 A) and Aditya Pathak (8 E) provided accompaniment on the harmonium and the manjiras respectively. 

The zonal competition was marked by high-quality performances and an enthusiastic audience, which underscored the talent and dedication present in the music community. The feedback from the judges, participants, and attendees was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the event’s role in providing valuable exposure and opportunities for singers.
