Honour for Junior School choir at inter school event

A team of melodious singers from classes III to V of The Indian School participated in Swaralaap 2019, an inter-school singing competition held at Gyan Bharati School, Saket, on 3 August 2019. The theme for the event paid a tribute to "Maa", in recognition of the role the mother plays in our lives.

The eleven minstrels were accompanied by their teachers, Mr Sanjeev, Mr Adhir Das and Ms Jaspreet Kaur. The band was excited to participate in a competition that attracted nascent talent from almost 19 schools of Delhi-NCR.

The programme commenced with a mesmerizing dance performance choreographed artistically on the song "Jai Maa Durge" sung by Ahmed Hussain and Mohammed Hussain. The head of the primary department in her welcome address spoke about a mother and her contribution in shaping cultures and individuals.

Pt Kailash Sharma and Pt Mukesh Sharma adjudged the performances of the various school groups appropriately named after the synonyms of Maa - Baa, Bebe, Janani, Maitri, Maaji, etc.

The talented The Indian School junior choir of the primary level won the third prize for their soulful rendition of Teri ungli pakad ke chala song. The little ones were delighted to have their hard work rewarded with a sapling and certificate of appreciation.
