Honours at Genesis MUN

Preparing and participating in an MUN helps students develop thinking skills, articulation, leadership skills, research, writing, public speaking, and problem-solving skills. Equally important, the ability to come up with solutions that are acceptable to the majority of the representatives- all these inculcate skills of negotiation, conflict resolution, and cooperation.

Our School gave us this amazing opportunity to test our skills by participating in the Genesis MUN 2020 from 19 to 21 November 2020. The event was conducted online by Genesis Global School, Noida. Tarun Rajpal, Jiya Jawa and Gurmehr Gulati of class XI represented our School at the conference.

The MUN started with an opening ceremony where the secretariat members gave beautiful speeches and motivated all the delegates to put their best foot forward. There were four committees at the MUN namely :

1.UNHRC

2. UNSC

3. Lok Sabha

4. US Senate

The students from our School took part in the United Nation Humans Rights Council for which the agenda was -" Protection of Rights of Religious Minorities". The students felt that the agenda was important and its discussion was necessary especially during these times when communal violence has been witnessed in many parts of our country. The conference was a very fruitful experience and the participants learnt about the views of all countries on that issue. Gurmehr Gulati received the Honourable Mention Award and Tarun Rajpal got the Special Mention Award at the event.

The conference was a highly enriching experience for all the participants.
