Honours at inter school aero-modelling competition

On 2nd December, 2017, a group of students of our School attended an aero-modelling competition on the Jamia Millia campus. The group included Darsh Kumar (class X), Srinjoy Mukherjee (class IX), Jagmeet Singh (class X) and Manan Kakkar (class VI), The chief guest at the competition was Maharaja Sardar, celebrated pilot of the Indian Air Force, who has completed 4000 hours of flying.

This event offered excellent demonstrations of aero modelling. The competition was categorised on the basis of the age of participants. Darsh Kumar participated in the Pigeon category, Srinjoy Mukherjee in the Hunter category and Manan Kakkar in the Tiny Tot category.

Other schools like Mount Carmel Public School, Salwan Public School (Mayur Vihar), APJ Public School (Sheikh Sarai) and DAV Vasant Kunj also participated in the competition.

Our Jagmeet Singh won the Second Prize in Hunter Open Competition. This was an enriching experience for us where we absorbed the nuances of aero-modelling- designing, building and flying the different models of airplanes. It provided a platform for us to pursue our interest in a safe, friendly and encouraging environment.
