Honours at inter school Commerce League

On August 11, 2023, The Indian School pupils participated in The Heritage Commerce League (HCL) at The Heritage School, Rohini. It was a lively and educational event that aimed to provide students, insights into the world of business and commerce. The tournament included a variety of events, such as Deal Baazi, Quizathon, Stock Shatranj, and Shunya Se Shikhar.

Quizathon

At Quizathon, Hriday Tejwani XI and Simran Kaur XII were awarded the Third Position and the title "Quizard Wizard." Quizathon was also played by Gautam Asija XI and Anshika Sood XII. The quiz was conducted by noted quizmaster, Ms Aryapriya Ganguly. The quiz consisted of several brain teasers related to the world of commerce.

Kala Drishti

Yashvi Bharal XII participated in a Kala Drishti, an online competition and took home the title, "The Visionary." The participants were to correlate commerce with the five elements of nature and present the same through any one of the following media: visual artwork/ painting, dance, singing, poetry/ article/ theatrical act.

Shunya Se Shikhar

In a competition called Shunya Se Shikhar, Maanya Arora XII, Shamit Sharma XII, and Anvika Narang XII competed to present a new sustainable brand to a panel of judges. The problem statements based on the five elements were shared with the teams. The participants were to choose any one problem statement and pitch a business plan based on the same.

Stock Shatranj

Class XII students Mannat Suri and Saurabh Gupta engaged in Stock Shatranj, which aided in their comprehension of ideas like market trends, risk management, firm analysis, and diversification. In this game, the teams had virtual money to build a strong portfolio of securities (Indian and US Stocks/ gold bonds/ debentures/ currency) which was then to be traded in the secondary market.

Brand Kshetra

Several well-known company logos and taglines were displayed in the Brand Kshetra event. Class XI students, Viraaj Gaba XI C and Jaslin Kaur XI C, took part in this activity.

Gaming

The games, Musafiristic and Ultranomics, were fun and enthusiastic games. Both the events consisted of three separate rounds including bidding, quizzing and brain teasers. These enjoyable games were participated in by Pavani Agarwal XII, Kirtida Aggarwal XII, Akshita Chandel XII, and Veganil Manocha XII.

Deal Baazi

Deal Baazi was a game that Dev Sethi from class XI and Atiksh Jain from class XII participated in. It comprised different rounds including quiz, negotiation, and high-stake property ownership.

HCL also included a variety of online activities like the Logo War and Sketchzen in addition to the offline ones. The students who took part in the online activities were Tanmay Kumar XII, Divyansh Rajoria XII, Falak Rahi XII, and Roopkatha X.

For each of us, attending HCL was a once-in-a-lifetime event. It offered insightful information on industry advancements, consumer patterns, and market trends. Overall, the event was successful and incredibly educational.
