Honours at inter school English Debate
In a global world, the gen-next is an active player and requires a platform to express their core beliefs which are seminal in shaping the future.
The 3rd Sarla Birla Memorial English Critical Thinking Conclave, held at Birla Vidya Niketan on 19 August 2019 accorded an opportunity to young thinkers to come to engage in an intellectual exchange of ideas and opinions. The conclave marked the enthusiastic presence of several prominent schools from across Delhi-NCR.
The erudite The Indian School team comprising of Shrey Gogia (XII), Mehar Saxena (XII) and Aryan Singh (XI) did the School proud by winning the overall Second Prize. They received books authored by noted author Srijan Pal Singh as prize.

The competition had multi-format rounds, where the students articulation skills, thought flow, leadership skills and their impromptu readiness were put to test. The preliminary round was adjudged on the basis of a cumulative score of the speeches in the turncoat and extempore rounds as well as the critical review of an audio-visual cue.
The semifinal round witnessed an intensive panel discussion on the topic This house believes that a five trillion economy is a recipe for disaster.
The final judgment was delivered by the block and tackle round where the participants had to defend and adroitly oppose the motion given on the spot.
The conclave was an enriching experience that facilitated a broadening of students perspectives and honing skills essential to make the world a better place.
