Honours at inter school Primary level Creative Writing competition

A team of 12 Indianites participated in theCreative Writing Competition 2022-23,an inter-school event organised by Ramjas Primary School, Daryaganj, on Friday, 22 April. Ms Sangita, a teacher at The Indian School and Ms Sofia Raj, a parent representative, accompanied the group.

The successful event saw the active participation of 350 students from over 40 prestigious schools in the capital. Each school comprised a team of 12 students for the English and Hindi creative writing competition in the junior and sub-junior categories.

Whle the host school allotted roll numbers to students to avoid bias, they also gave the participants in each category three topics to choose from in the English creative writing. The sub-junior students got to choose from the following topics :

-My secret super talent

-What I learned in the last two years during Covid

-A narrow escape from trouble

After some serious contemplation,Shelin Raj of VICchose to write on the topic'My secret super talent'. The thought-provoking piece won her theThird Prize in the English sub-junior creative writing competition.

The English junior participants received the following three topics to choose from:

-What if there were two Sundays in a week?

-My first night away from my home

-A person who means the world to me

Samarth Sovani of class VCchoseWhat if there were two Sundays in a weekas his topic. His creative write-up won him aConsolation Prize.

In theHindi creative writing for juniors,Seana Kundu of IVC won the Second Prize. She choseMera Adbhut Swapnaas her topic. She talked about her dream of becoming the Prime Minister of India and how she would meet the scientists and resolve all social issues through gadgets. Through her inspirational piece, Seana specified how everything, including education, will have to become free one day and that there will be a time when there will be no poverty in the country.

The competition was a great learning experience for all the young Indianites who once again made the school, parents and the teachers proud of their achievements and growth.
