Honours at inter school vocal music competition

 A team of talented performers of The Indian School won the Second Position in the inter-school dance and music competition Jugalbandi 2024, themed Navarasa, organised by The Indian School-Second Shift, on 2 August 2024. The theme celebrated the nine emotions or rasas integral to classical Indian art, offering a vibrant display of talent and creativity that captivated both participants and spectators.

Each participating school presented a choir of 8 to 10 students, dressed in white kurta-pyjamas, with dupattas matching their chosen emotions. They were accompanied by instruments. The performances were judged on the basis of sur, taal, composition, presentation, and overall performance.

The Indianite choir put forth a scintillating performance fusing two Rasas, the Karuna Ras ( Beeto Jaye Sawan Piya Nahi Aye) and the Shringara Ras ( Mann Harkhao Piya Ghar Aao Ri), to win the hearts of the judges, Shri Aditya Kumar and Shri Vikas Kumar, noted Indian classical vocalist.

The winning ensemble included Vrinda Dawar (6E)Upasana Khatua (10B)Unnabh Dasmahapatra (10A)Naivaidya GoudaSnigdha Naug (9C)Nitai Ahuja (8E)Jishnu Chattopadhyay (6D)Aarohan Chakravarty (10A)Hervie Jain (8B)Sreyanshi Chowdhury (7B), and Cherrisha Verma (7E).

The event featured intense competition but maintained a spirit of camaraderie, making it a memorable celebration of India's rich musical heritage
