Honours at Jugalbandi 2017 ( The Foundation School)

The primary choir of classes II and III participated in the inter school music and dance festival, Jugalbandi 2017, hosted by The Foundation School on 27 October, 2017. They were awarded the First Prize for their melodious rendition in the music event,"Tarang."

Comprising of 15 students, the choir won the hearts of the judges. Dressed in white kurta-churidars, the young choir charmed the audience by its peppy presentation of a folk song of Uttar Pradesh.

The contestants were to present a folk song of their choice. Contesting with 11 schools, the young choir of the primary section notched points for their rhythm, melody and articulated hand movements, performed in unison . [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]

The judges at the competition were Ms. Uma Bhattacharya and Dr. Indira Das. Ms Renu Sharma, Regional Director of Education (West) graced the function as chief guest. . Tagore International (EOK) was declared First Runner up whilst The Foundation School was Second Runner up. Very graciously as host school, they passed over this award to the next best contestant, St. Mary's School.

"Rendezvous" -the inter school dance event was a visual treat in colour as a fusion of dances of 2 diverse cultures. Ms. Aishwarya Sinha and Ms. Swati Sishodia judged the competition. The Foundation School took the trophy for the first place. They demonstrated a fusion of a Rajasthani dance and the Ukranian National dance reflecting artful choreography and beautifully blended music.The performance was outstanding and appreciated by all. They handed over the trophy to Lotus Valley School being the host school. Birla Vidya Niketan and Ryan International School were awarded the first and second runners up prizes respectively.

The participants came away delighted and proud of their honours.
