On Wednesday, 17th August 2016 7 young vocalists from classes IV and V and 3 instrumentalists from classes VII and X, escorted by their music teacher, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary participated in an inter school music competition, Sur Aradhana at the K R Mangalam School, G K-II. The theme for the competition was Bhakti Fusion. 15 schools participated in the event.
The participants were required to present a self-composed devotional fusion song. Our students sang a combination of a Hindi bhajan, a shloka and an English hymn! It was a was a tough contest but our students were undeterred and gave their best to emerge winners! Yet again they took the first prize! They were followed by DPS, East of Kailash at second position and Sanskriti School at third position.
The vocalists were Pratham Goel (IVD), Pranav Verma (VC), Shrishti Chawan (VB), Rhea Hingorani (VB), Akshay Bhateja (VC), Pooja Jha (VE) and Anush Malik (IVE) and the instrumentalists were Prabhav Kapur (VIIE) on the harmonium, Vadish Kardam (XD) on the tabla and Jatin Gupta (XE) on the guitar.
