Honours at the CBSE Rope Skipping National Championship
The CBSE Rope Skipping National Championship was held at the Sri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar, from 7 - 11 November 2019.
The programme began with the host principal welcoming the guests, officials, coaches and participants. The host school then welcomed the visiting teams with a cultural programme featuring the Ganesh Vandana, yoga pyramids, gymnastic and a folk dance.
At the end of the opening ceremony one of the guests of honour, Mr Samra shared an inspiring story of an athlete with the audience.

Around 700 participants from across India participated in the tournament. The host school provided excellent hospitality to the participating teams which were put up on the school premises. Events were scheduled in the categories- Under 14, Under 19, individual and team events for the boys and girls.
There was stiff competition but our students were well prepared to compete and give their best. Our Harleen Barar of class 9C secured the Gold medal in the 30 seconds speed sprint and Devanshi Agarwal of 9A secured the 6th rank in the 3 minutes endurance event.
The closing ceremony was held on the 10th after a sumptuous lunch. The winners were felicitated with medals and certificates.
