Independence Day 2026 celebrated at School
The Indian School commemorated the 80th Independence Day with immense pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic zeal. The celebration was thoughtfully curated to instil the core values of liberty, national integration, and civic responsibility, offering students a vibrant platform to honour India’s freedom struggle and rich democratic heritage through a series of enriching cultural presentations.
The proceedings commenced with a solemn special assembly that underscored the significance of sovereignty and the enduring duties of constructive citizenship. Setting a vibrant tone, students presented a captivating patriotic dance, combining expressive choreography with graceful movements to capture the essence of national pride. This was followed by a stirring choral rendition of patriotic melodies that resonated across the gathering, evoking deep reverence for the nation's freedom fighters.
Emphasising the integral role of holistic health in nation-building, a synchronised yoga demonstration showcased the students' discipline, poise, and mental focus, reinforcing the ideal that a progressive nation thrives on healthy, mindful citizens.
A distinctive highlight of the event was the active participation of the Pre School and Pre Primary children. The youngest learners participated in a flag-hoisting ceremony, an endearing sight that reinforced the importance of nurturing patriotic values from an early age.
Adding poignant historical depth to the occasion, the children arrived dressed as some of our unsung heroes of India’s independence movement. Their confident portrayals paid a heartfelt tribute to the courage and sacrifices of lesser-known freedom fighters who played a pivotal role in the nation’s journey to self-determination.
