Independence Day Quiz on 12th August 2015

With the advent of the month of August, all of us are filled with a zeal and enthusiasm to express the feeling of unity and secularism as we participate in the celebrations for our country. To commemorate the 69th Independence Day of India, the Pre-Primary organized its ninth Independence Day Quiz on 12th August 2015 in the squash court area at 9am. The area was decorated with various crafts pertaining to the Independence Day made by the children. The event/celebration was graced by our Principal Mrs. Tania Joshi. The quiz was an ideal way to ignite awareness amongst the children and to generate an interest and curiosity amongst them regarding our rich culture and heritage. This activity would build confidence in them and make them feel empowered. The quiz was organized keeping our theme of the year States along the west coast of India in mind. The quiz was conducted amongst all five sections of pre-primary where two children from each section were selected on a fair pre asked questionnaire round. The questions asked were based on the facts, eminent personalities, and places of interest, famous dances, cuisine and festivals celebrated in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala. [gallery link="file"] The quiz was divided into four rounds which were as follows: I- Question and Answer Round II-Visual Round III-Musical Round IV-PPT Round All the participants showcased their talent. The selected participants were: PP Gemini-Mishka Yogin Bhatti, Tashika Rao Rachakonda, PP Leo-Shiven Menon, Mehar Kaur, PP Merak-Geetika Gupta, Arijit Pattnaik, PP Orion-Pehal Sharma, Adi Ismail, PP Vega-Parth Takkar, Ipshita Mehra. Visual Round was a delight to see where Mishka n Tashika answered with ease and confidence. Musical Round also no doubt seemed to be an easy ball game for Arijit and Geetika. Shiven and Mehar were very confident while answering to the questions put forth, so were Pehal, Adi, Ipshita and Parth. Participants from all the sections were presented with certificates and the winners PP Gemini were presented winning certificates by our Head Teacher Mrs. Vinita Roy. The show ended with the participants singing the song Ek-do ek-do badhte kadam It was indeed an edutainment session for one and all. Yashika
