INDEPENDENCE DAY QUIZ in Pre-primary

As is customary at our School, the Pre-Primary celebrated Independence Day by participating in a Quiz on 12th August, 2014.

It worked as an ideal way to ignite awareness amongst the children and to generate a curiosity amongst them about our rich culture and history. The activity also helped build confidence in them. The quiz was wrapped around the School theme of the year, viz., States along the west coast of India. Five teams participated with two students from each section of pre- primary. The prelim rounds were conducted in the classroom on the basis of what was taught to the children in regular class. Over and above these, two students from each section dressed up as famous personalities belonging to the States along the west coast of India. To name a few:-

From Gujarat: Sidhi as Phalguni Pathak, Ronit Charaya as Mr. Narendra Modi (PP-MERAK) From Maharashtra: Samaira as Lata Mangeshkar, Shaurya as Sachin Tendulkar (PP-GEMINI) From Goa: Shaurya Dutta as Leander Peas, Aditya Sharma as Remo Fernandes (PP-ORION) From Karnataka:Sakshi Rao as Aishwarya Rai (PP-LEO) From Kerala: Pratham Gulati as K.R.Narayanan, Yagnya as P.T.Usha

[gallery] The quiz was divided into four rounds: 1st round- Question and answer round 2nd round-3D visual round (children representing the famous personalities from their adopted state) 3rd round-PPT round (different dance forms, festivals celebrated and monuments were shown to the children) 4th round- Guess the patriotic tune.

Oishee Halder and Shaurya Fulfager of PP LEO were pronounced winners of the quiz and all participants were presented with certificates.

The show concluded with the national anthem.
