Independence Day Quiz in The Pre-Primary

With the advent of August and a Independence Day, all of us are filled with a spirit of patriotism and unity. To commemorate our 69th anniversary of independence, as customary, the Pre-Primary organised its 9th Independence Day Quiz on 12th August 2015. It was held in the squash court area at 9 am. The area was decorated with Independence Day craft in tricolour made by the little ones themselves!

The quiz is an effective way to instil early awareness amongst the children and to generate curiosity amongst them for our rich culture and heritage. The quiz was set in line with the theme of the year, namely, States along the west coast of India. It quiz was conducted across the 5 sections of pre-primary and 2 children from each section were selected for this on the basis of the elimination round. The questions asked were based on facts about eminent personalities, places of interest, famous dances, cuisine and festivals celebrated in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala. The quiz was divided into four rounds: I- Question and Answer Round II-Visual Round III-Musical Round IV-PPT Round

All the participants spontaneously showcased what they knew. The selected participants were: PP Gemini-Mishka Yogin Bhatti and Tashika Rao Rachakonda; PP Leo-Shiven Menon and Mehar Kaur; PP Merak-Geetika Gupta and Arijit Pattnaik; PP Orion-Pehal Sharma and Adi Ismail; PP Vega-Parth Takkar and Ipshita Mehra. The Visual Round was a delight to see where Mishka and Tashika answered in great ease and confidence! The Musical Round also seemed easy game for Arijit and Geetika! Shiven and Mehar were very animated as they answered the questions put forth, as were Pehal, Adi, Ipshita and Parth. Participants of all the sections were presented with certificates and the winner, PP Gemini was presented a special certificate by Head Teacher, Mrs. Vinita Roy. The show concluded with the participants singing aloud, Ek-do ek-do badhte kadam. It had been a morning of great edutainment! By Yashika.
