INNONATION 2023 - a diverse intra school science fest

Louis Pasteur once said, Science doesn't belong to just one place, because knowledge is like a light that shines all over the world.

The Indian School's science group, held the annual intra-school science competition, Innonation, on 18 August, 2023. The event included a number of activities for classes III to XII in an effort to encourage students to think creatively and to build a passion for the sciences and business knowledge.

To guide the students forward, Shri Satya N. Satyendra, Chief Operating Officer at Hotspot Retail Pvt. Ltd., Prof. Abhishek Dixit, Assistant Professor at IIT Delhi, and school alumnus Jatin Gupta, management consultant and marketing analytics' expert, were invited to serve as judges and offer their valuable insights. Student judges Shamit Sharma (XII-B) and Ekveer Sahoo (XII-C) were also present, complementing the external judges.

The event started with a video teaser and an opening ceremony presented by Manan Kakkar and Chinmay Mishra of XIIA.

The details for the events are as follows.

SDG Poem Recitation Competition (Class III)

In this competition, the young participants recited poems on a variety of topics such as No Poverty, Zero Hunger, etc. The winner of the competition were:

I position: Vrisha Razdan, II position: Agasthya Singh and

III position: Rigyang Namsel.

SDG Mask Making Competition (Class IV)

In this category, the enthusiasts crafted a creative face mask based on an SDG goal. The winners of the event were:

I position: Prisha Verma and Ariz Ahmed, II position: Prisha Mishra and III position: Sarvodya Bhargava.

Science in Everyday Life (Class V)

In this category, students presented their projects centred around scientific concepts observed in our daily lives. The winners were: Joint I position: Seana Kundu/Syed Eesa Alvi and

Jenisha Tulsiyana/ Atharva Srivastava, II position: Shanelle Vij/ Neeraj and III position: G Hrishikesh.

Declamation (Classes VI-VIII)

Here, students spoke on topics related to current affairs or science for a specified time duration. The winners of the competition were: I position: Gitansh Taneja, II position: Kishika Assudaney and III position: Aastha Kumari.

Product Design Competition (Classes VI-VIII)

Situations such as accidents, traffic management etc warrant creative solutions, as presented by the participants in this competition. The following students secured the winning positions: I position: Manan Gera, Divfateh Singh. Jigisha Roshan and Affhan Taheem; II position: Aaryan Sehgal, Arnavjeet Singh, Kartavya Sharma and Aditya Pathak and III position: Naivaidya Gouda, Yashwardhan Saini, Aaryamann Kapoor and Aditya Kumar

Hackathon (Classes IX-XII)

Similar to product design, in this event, problems relating to tele-medicine, remote healthcare, mental well-being, and preventive healthcare were addressed, alongwith the financial implications of such propositions. The winners were:

I position: Ashwini Prakash, Upasana Khatua, Advay Sethi, and Nivriti Naswa; II position: Aarush Roy, Atiksh Jain, Pranav Verma and Sarthak Aggarwal; III position: Shaurya Fulfagar, Priyanshi Sharma, Vansh Sharma, and Rishietdeep Singh.

The event was a great success, demonstrating student aptitude for science and demonstrating once more why our School places such a strong emphasis on encouraging the sciences.
