INSPIRE awards- state level awards

Two students accompanied by a teacher attended a State level Exhibition & Project Competition ISPEC under the INSPIRE AWARD- MANAK Scheme, 2017. The venue was the Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Lajpat Nagar on 12th and 13th October. The event was organised by INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research). In this scheme, every year two lakh school children in the age-group of 10 to 15 years are selected for the INSPIRE awards. The awards are accompanied by a cash prize of Rs.5,000 per child.

Our School Aadrita Goswamy of class 8 and Kshitij Mohan of class 12 were recipients of the award.

12th October was the day of the exhibition. We reached the venue early and set up our projects. There were about 90 participants including us. My project was a model of a part of the Yamuna, with suggested ways of cleaning it. Kshitij Mohan demonstrated his working model of a drone which was appreciated by many visiting students.

On 13th October, our projects were evaluated. We explained our projects to the judges, the chief guest, students and teachers of the host school as well as numerous participating and visiting schools. We also got an opportunity to ask questions regarding the models of other schools and understand new concepts.

It was a great experience. It was also a matter of great privilege to be selected from amongst thousands of students and also presenting a model on our natural and regional heritage. We hope to get more such opportunities in the future to represent our School and make everyone proud.
