INTACH Filmit Felicitation Ceremony
Students from classes 9-10 were taken to share their endeavour of preserving heritage, to the much-awaited Filmit Festival 2013-14 at the India International Centre on Feburary 7, 2014.
Last year, students and teachers were trained by experts from the UK in the basics of filmmaking and they went on to create unique visuals, scripting, shooting with the video camera, acting, producing, mixing and editing.
This year six movies were made by our students pertaining to different facets of our tangible and intangible heritage by the students of classes 9-10. Some were documentary- style and some as reportage. Each one delighted it's viewers.
The ceremony involved not only the screening of the best movies but also an opportunity to share experiences with INTACH and that too in the presence of none other than the Chief Guest Padmashri Shobhna Narayan, the famous exponent of Kathak. For a fitting finale Chinmaya Iyer And Sanatan Srivastava had the audience spellbound with their jugalbandi on Raag Brindavani!
We are proud to announce that our School received two awards
Best Cinematography-Birds of Delhi by Shlok Tyagi, X-A and
Best Documentary-Chor Minar by Pranati Haldia X-A
The productions may be considered raw and innocent by some, but the stories told through them showed a sense of urgency and maturity among the students who painstakingly created these movies as heritage crusaders. They are already gearing up for the next season!
All films are available on the Filmit website. Congratulations to all winners!
