On the 17th August15, six students of class 10-Srinidhi Ayyagari, Saruby Sharma, Divtesh Singh, Sukrit Gupta, Manav Arora and Anshaj Gupta participated in the INTACH Indian Heritage Quiz 2015 at the Amity International School, Gurgaon. The quiz initiated and supported by INTACH, aimed at encouraging school children to learn about the glorious past of our country. It was conducted by Express Minds Edutainment. Over 25 schools from the Delhi NCR and Haryana participated in this prestigious event.
The quiz had an interesting mix of national and local heritage as well as Indian culture. The questions covered the following subjects: Physical and political geography of India; history from ancient times including mythological references; the people of India and their culture; the growth and development of languages and literature in India; the contribution of India to the world, artistic endeavour, including visual, performing, and cinematic arts; business and economy; Indian contribution to science and technology; sporting achievements- in all sports at the national and international levels; Indian cuisine- its diversity, history and origins; folk and traditional arts and crafts; architecture, from ancient times to modern; famous people who have been born in India, or foreigners who have lived in and contributed to India in some way.
