Inter Class Chess Tournament for classes 6-12

The Indian School hosted a thrilling two-day "Inter Class Chess Tournament" on 18 and 19 May 2026, drawing in some of the sharpest young minds of Classes VI-XII. With more than 150 participants in each category, the event was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of strategic thinking, patience, and mental discipline.

The first day opened with palpable energy as students settled into their seats, eyes locked on the boards. The young competitors (VI to VIII) wasted no time. Focused, determined, and well-prepared, they competed enthusiastically in the knockout-format tournament. What stood out was not just the quality of play but also the students' quiet concentration and remarkable ability to think several moves ahead. The matches set an inspiring tone for everything that followed.

Day Two raised the bar even higher. Students from Classes IX to XII brought with them greater tactical sophistication, approaching each match with calm precision and strategic foresight. With more than 150 participants competing in this category, the knockout rounds were fiercely contested. Players demonstrated the ability to read the game, adapt mid-match, and hold their nerve under pressure. The level of play was a testament to the students' dedication, and more than a few matches had onlookers leaning on the edges of their seats.

The initiative concluded on a high note, reflecting the institution's dedication to fostering student development beyond traditional academics and highlighting how practical experiences serve as invaluable extensions of learning.
