On 15th May, 2018 an inter-house debate was organised by Chandra house for classes 10 to 12. 8 participants were selected to compete in the event. The multi-format debate assessed the speakers on 2 interesting genres of debate namely Turncoat and Extempore. The panel of judges comprised senior teachers, Ms. Navreet Shergill and Ms. Sharayu Paralikar who adjudged the speakers on their spontaneity, instinct, critical thinking, poise and interpretation. A preliminary round was followed by the Turncoat round. Sirjan Kaur and Abhimanyu Marwah qualified for the final which was an extempore round where the participants were handed topics like The clock that doesnt show time , Knock, Knock the door doesnt open, bang, bang it disappears. Sirjan Kaur (XII) was named the winner of the final round. The results were as follows: 1st Indra House ( Gauri Awasthi and Abhimanyu Marwah) 2nd Surya House ( Sirjan Kaur and Gurliv Kaur) 3rd Chandra House ( Aryan Singh and Divija Puri) 4th -Varun House ( Vedansh Jain and Jatin Gupta) We look forward to witnessing similar zest passion and enthusiasm in future events!
