With the aim of fostering an appreciation for the Hindi language while developing students’ pronunciation, confidence, memory and stage presence, an Inter-House Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition was organised on 13 August 2026 for the students of Classes IX and X. Held in the run-up to Independence Day, the competition centred on the themes of Patriotism and the Varied Hues of Life.

Two students from each of the four Houses, Chandra, Indra, Surya and Varun, participated in the competition. The participants presented a diverse selection of poems, including Tujhe Kuchh Aur Bhi Doon by Ramavatar Tyagi, Ganatantra Diwas by Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Wah Khoon Kaho Kis Matlab Ka by Gopal Prasad Vyas, Ye Tiranga Hamari Shaan Hai by Rajesh Chetan, Veeron Ka Kaisa Ho Vasant, Mera Naya Bachpan, Yah Kadamb Ka Ped by Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, Manushya Aur Sarp by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, and Suno Draupadi, Shastra Utha Lo by Pushyamitra Upadhyay.

The students recited their chosen poems with enthusiasm, sensitivity and conviction, demonstrating impressive command of language and effective stage presence. Even those appearing on stage for the first time displayed remarkable composure and confidence.
