Inter House Spell-Bee Competition, classes 4 and 5.

An inter-house Spell-Bee competition was held on 19 July, 2013 for classes IV and V with an aim to

1) Awaken excellence, promote values and provide an opportunity for students to meet and compete with their peers in an atmosphere of fun and friendship.

2) Help students to learn to spell quickly, accurately and with comprehension.

3) Encourage students to explore the English language.

All students were given a fair chance to qualify for the competition through a series of spell well classes, performance being rated on the number of correctly spelt words ( based on the spelling lists uploaded on the School website). The winners of these rounds were finally selected for the main competition.

The first round was POWER- SPELL wherein the children were asked to spell words correctly.

The second round was 'PALINDROME' wherein the students had to speak out a word which spelt the same, forwards as well as backwards.

The third round was 'WORD- FIND' wherein the students were to circle the words given to them in an alphabet grid.

The fourth round was 'JUMBLED WORDS' wherein the students had to identify the correct word.

The competition was well received by the students and they participated with great enthusiasm and zeal.

The competition was won by CHANDRA HOUSE. The names of the winners are as follows:
