Interaction with psychologist-alumnus, Umang Sharma Bajpai for class 12

On 27 October 2020, students of class XII (Humanities and Commerce) had an insightful interaction with Ummang Sharma Bajpai, alumnus of our School. Ummang Bajpai studied at the University of Edinburgh, doing an M.Sc. in the Psychology of Mental Health. He is the recipient of the Great Britain and Scottish Saltire Scholarship and is a member of all major global Psychology Associations - including the British Psychology Society (BPS) and the American Psychology Association (APA). He is currently working as a psychologist at the Institute for the Advancement of Mental Health in Delhi and uses an eclectic- integrative approach to psychotherapy for holistic mental wellness. He explained the different types of emotions and shed light on the importance of self-care. He emphasised the need for personal boundaries and their impact on ones mental health. He also shared his strategy for setting and achieving goals. Ummang made the session interesting by asking the students for their inputs and interacted with them extensively over many things. In the end, Ummang took up questions from his audience and patiently answered them. The session was informative and helped the students gain a new perspective on mental and emotional health.
