Interaction with School Chairman on Sardar Patel

Every citizen of India must remember that he is an Indian and has every right in this country, but with certain duties.

On 4 May, 2018 students of classes IV and V, their eyes alive with enthusiasm, engaged in a stimulating dialogue with our School chairman, Mr. Prafull Goradia on Sardar Patel.

The session began with Mr. Goradia outlining facets from the life and accomplishments of Sardar Patel. He especially spoke about the Sardars invaluable contribution in uniting India after the British left.

Sardar Patels most monumental action was the integration of over 550 princely states that were not apart of British India. This feat was accomplished within six months of independence, with consultation, persuasion and deft negotiation with the numerous princes. Wherever required, Sardar Patel exhibited an iron fist.

A princely ruler who doggedly refused to agree on a merger was the Nizam of Hyderabad. So Sardar Patel sent in the Indian army and within seven days, the army took charge of the entire state and its military force.

The students carefully listened to the account which brought out the quality of the Sardar as a very tough and decisive leader. Photographs from the great leaders life added to the gripping story.
